OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO PROMOTE AND PROTECT THE INTERESTS OF ITS MEMBERS IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN PELAGIC INDUSTRY

OUR FUNCTIONS

  1. Representing our Members in negotiations with the Government of the Republic of South Africa or any other legislative or administrative body with regard to Industry matters.
  2. To consider, report, advise and make representations on existing or new legislation or any such matters affecting the Industry, the interests of the Association or its Members and to promote, support or oppose such legislation.
  3. To become a member or join another organization or body or to work together with such body or organization within or without the Republic of South Africa if the interests of the Members could be served thereby.
  4. To assist our Members with any administrative or technical matters concerning their membership and the Association.
  5. To assist in the functioning of the Sea Management Committee.
  6. To take the necessary steps to advance the interest of the Industry and to generally act on behalf of its Members in any direction in which their interests may be affected.

We are an association of Right Holders in the Small Pelagic Fishery and actively support our members in the responsible harvesting of Small Pelagic species, providing premium raw material to processing facilities, in our quest to sustain decent employment and to contribute positively to global food security.
